Wonder with me what memories of childhood rise as you read this poem. Perhaps you’d like to journal those memories with Jesus by your side. Tell Him about the good memories and the not so good ones too. Spend some time in the presence of the Trinity – our Father, our brother, and our comforter.
Listen to the Lord saying to you, ‘ You are my son/ daughter, whom I love. In you I am well- pleased. ‘ Mathew 3:17
Grace-work: Sometime during the week/ day, spend some time playing with your child. Let your child choose the game. If you don’t know the rules, let them explain it to you. Ask your children about something that made them happy in the week. Listen well without interrupting. When they finish sharing, just say thank you for sharing.
A Child’s Cry
Day after day
We woke up before dawn
We were rushed to
Move fast, eat fast, dress up fast
Day after day
I woke before my dream ended
The rush, the hurry,
They ask me not to worry
But didn’t they also ask ‘Why aren’t you worried?’
How I felt lost,
Torn apart,
Bent ashamed,
But no one heard –
I was to be strong,
They said
It was all for my good
All the rush, the hurry and the worry.
